What you will see
Bibiena's rose window
You walk into the auditorium and look up: the rose window at the centre of the vault, and all around it the tiers of boxes that draw the bell shape designed by Antonio Galli Bibiena.
Foyer Respighi
The first room you meet coming in from the portico, with its Venetian terrazzo floor and large windows onto the square. Since 1936 it has carried the name of Ottorino Respighi.
The seats
The stalls seen from the stage: rows of green seats and, all around them, the boxes closing in on the auditorium.
Corridors and staircases
Behind every box there is a corridor and a staircase: that is how you reach the tiers, one after another.
The hundred boxes
The auditorium from above with a full house, the orchestra and chorus on stage and every tier of boxes taken.
Foyer Rossini
The Theatre's second foyer, on the level of the third tier of boxes, carved out of the space above the portico. On the walls, oval paintings of landscapes.
Rotonda Gluck
The rotunda leading to the stalls sections, with an inlaid star at the centre of the floor. It carries the name of Christoph Willibald Gluck, composer of the opera that opened the Theatre in 1763.
